
Bollywood Actresses
The term Bollywood came to be as the combination of Bombay and Hollywood
when the Hindi film industry became the largest film producer the 70's.
Although it is the largest film producer in India, Bollywood is not the
whole of Indian Cinema but only a part of it.
It produces films in different regional languages and it also features
the English language a bit. It covers a wide range of film genre from
old Sanskrit drama and Indian epics to modern, western inspired
musicals.
In the late 40's - 60's, the Hindi films had the most critically
acclaimed films. Thus, this period was considered as their Golden Age.
The 1946 film Neecha Nagar won the first Cannes Film Festival. One of
the most known actor of this period is Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor. In the
late 60's – 70's, Hindi romantic and action films introduced several
known Indian actors and actresses. In late 80's and early 90's, the
Hindi films went back to making films that centers on family and romance
with musicals. The actress Kajol was from this period. She has the
record for most wins in the Filmfare Awards,where she got five, as the
Best Actress.

In the 2000s, Bollywood has become known through out the world. The
quality of their films had also greatly improved. Films were also
distributed abroad and brought success to the Indian Films industry.
Several of their actors and actresses, including the Miss World 1994
winner Aishwarya Rai, made it big.
Kareena Kapoor, who came from a long
list of family in the Hindi show business and the granddaughter of Raj
Kapoor, is also one of the actresses that was delivered during this time
in Bollywood.

It also helped several new actresses make it big like the former models
Anushka Sharma, which is only 23 years old, and the daughter of
Badminton Champion Prakash Padukone,
Deepika Padukone. Although a new
generation of Internationally known actors and actresses had been
delivered by Bollywood, it was able to keep the popularity of the actors
and actresses in the decades that passed.
